Do you have a Linksys phone that you would like to use with Vocalocity’s service? Follow the below instructions to configure or provision your phone to your Vocalocity extension.

How do I set up or provision my Linksys phone?

  1. To associate your new phone with your extension, it is necessary to create a new device for the extension in the Vonage Business Solutions portal. This article includes the Administrator Interface and End User Interface instructions for associating your new phone with your extension.
  2. Back to your device, Power on your phone, making certain it is plugged into the network using the “LAN” port on the back of the phone.
  3. Now that the phone is powered on, press the menu button on the phone. This button looks like a piece of paper with a folded corner.
  4. Scroll down to line 9 and hit “Select.”
  5. On the second line you will see “Current IP.” Write down this address (e.g. 192.168.0.150).
  6. Next, put the IP address you copied into the address bar of a web browser, such as Internet Explorer or Firefox.
  7. You should now see the web interface for the phone.
  8. Click “Admin Login” on the right side of the page.
  9. Now, click “Advanced.”
  10. Select the “Provisioning” tab across at the top of the page.
  11. Scroll down to the field “Profile Rule” and enter the following information exactly as seen here:
    http://prov.vocalocity.com/linksys-spa941/spa$MA.cfg 
  12. Click “Submit All Changes” at the bottom of the page. The phone will now restart itself.
  13. When the phone finishes rebooting, pull the power cable on the phone.
  14. Plug the power cable back in 10 seconds later.
  15. After the phone reboots this time, wait 1 full minute. The phone will reboot within that minute and should come up showing extension numbers and green lights.

How to I adjust the time on my Linksys phone?

  1. Now that the phone is powered on, press the menu button on the phone. This button looks like a piece of paper with a folded corner.
  2. Scroll down to line 9 and press “Select.”
  3. On the second line, you will see “Current IP.” Write down this address (e.g. 192.168.0.150).
  4. Put the IP address into the address bar of a web browser, such as Internet Explorer or Firefox.
  5. You should now see the web interface for the Linksys phone.
  6. Click “Admin Login” on the right-hand side of the page.
  7. Click “Advanced.”
  8. Click the “Regional” tab at the top of the page.
  9. Scroll down to the bottom of the page. About six lines from the bottom, you will see “Time Zone.” Please adjust this according to the time zone that you are in. For example, -5 for Eastern and -8 for Pacific.
  10. Immediately below the “Time Zone” you will see “Daylight Saving Time Rule.” Please enter:
    start=3/13/7/02:0:0;end=11/6/7/02:0:0;save=1
    This will ensure the time will change on the correct date.
  11. Now, click the “Provision” tab at the top of the page.
  12. On the first line, you will see two drop down boxes. Please change “Provision Enable” and “Resync on Reset” to “No.”
  13. Click “Submit All Changes” at the bottom of the page.

Your time should now adjust!
