Firmware Compatibility

Important: Before any attempt at set up is made, please check the top right corner of your phone. It should say “SIP.” If you do not see SIP in the top right corner, press the “Settings” button on your phone. Under option 4, you should see “SIP Configuration.” If you see the word “SIP” in either of these locations, your phone should be compatible with Vonage Business’s service. If you do not see “SIP” in either location on the phone, your phone will not work with Vonage Business due to incompatible firmware. Contact a Cisco certified technician to get the correct firmware on your phone. The firmware must be version 8.3 or above. Because of Cisco regulations, Vonage Business is unable to change the firmware on your Cisco phone for you.

To check the phone for current firmware, go to Settings, Status, Firmware Versions and examine the Application Load ID

Example Application Load IDs compatible with our service are as follows:

  • P0S3-08-3-00
  • P0S3-08-6-00
  • P0S3-08-8-00
  • P0S3-08-12-00

Please Note: Sometimes the 3 is omitted so it will show up as P0S-8-X-00. All other formats that conform to P00307000100 or P0M3-07-4-00 are not compatible because they utilize different VoIP protocols. As always, if you’re not sure you can always contact Technical Support.
